Barren explores the use of space both in the rural and urban aspects. It looks at forgotten spaces, spaces with new-found meaning, as well, as how we respect these places. To fully encapsulate the meaning of American rural space we have to look at the culture and community within those, the relics and places that they hold dear as well as what's left forgotten. Dreamy landscapes are of the past, there's too much else to look at.
